This text list fixer tool will help you sort and format and clean up list data.
Copying and pasting lists of text from the web can be problematic. You may have copied some text that you don’t want on your list. You have to go through the whole list and remove all of the items that are unwanted. This can be time-consuming and tedious, especially if there are many items on your list.
Oftentimes I’ve encountered useful data but poorly formated. I made this tool for myself to clean up data for this website, but am delighted to offer it free to any other list enthusiasts or anyone who needs to fix a list of text!

Sorting
Sorting a list alphabetically is useful when you have many things to do and don’t know where to start. Getting the list sorted will help you find what you’re looking for more quickly, so sorting becomes a time-saver.
You can sort the list from A-Z or in reverse Z-A.
Remove Duplicates
This is very useful when you may have copied items from 2 or more lists. You’ll often end up with some common entries from both. The remove duplicates feature will take out any extra items with the same name.
To remove blank lines, you can remove duplicates and sort from A-Z. There will be one blank line at the top of the list you can manually delete.
Trim White Space
If there are blank spaces that are leading or trailing in any of your entries the list fixer can remove them. The app will go line to line and trim the text from the start and end of the text.
Remove Leading Numbers
If your text has leading numbers, such as “1.”, “2)” or “3 ” then the text fixer can strip those out of each entry. This is very useful for cleaning up a list before you sort it.
Split or Join
You can make a list and put it into one line of text with the entires joined by a comma, semicolon or pipe “|”. This is useful for coders making apps. You can also take the single line and turn it back into a list.
